The teachings of Budha are :-

Life is full of sufferings; therefore the religion should make attempts to remove the sufferings through ethical discipline and self-purification.  Sufferings originate from desires.  This desire binds one with the cycle of birth and death.

However, it is possible to overcome sufferings through wisdom understanding and full awareness of self to reach the state of bliss.  Therefore, one has to endeavor to move from ignorance to awareness through strict moral discipline.  To end the sufferings, one has to lead the noble paths; torture of body would never give Nirvan. Budhism denies existence of transcendental knowledge and dogmatic metaphysical doctrines. It is a religion of non-attachment.  Knowledge must be free from the world and one must look upon things in objective and unattached manner.  There is no God or soul but `Manas’.  This prompts all actions and words.  From purity of mind arises purity of emotions, purity of words and purity of actions.  Dharma and Karma are supreme.
